I believe blogging is a great way to actively engage students in the writing process. Blogging exposes students to an authentic audience, which can be a motivator for students to publish their best work. Using Kidblog, teachers have full control of post and comment settings. Many veteran Kidblog teachers suggest that a gradual release approach gives them the opportunity to teach digital citizenship and writing etiquette to their students in a controlled environment. I believe blogging is a great way to integrate technology into the curriculum. Students are no longer writing for (just) the teacher to grade their work, they are writing to a global network that will share their passions and encourage their creativity!
